Consultation Process
The first step in all consultations for restoration, cleaning, repair and/or parts is to complete a full service request form by clicking on the following link.  Depending on the type of restoration you are interested in, we may not even need to see the stove in person or charge you for a quote.

NOTE: INSTRUCTIONS ON THIS PAGE APPLIES ONLY TO RESTORING YOUR STOVE.  IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A FULLY RESTORED RANGE CLICK HERE TO SELECT A STOVE THAT WE CAN CUSTOM RESTORE FOR YOU.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR GALLERY OF AVAILABLE RANGES. PICK OUT A RANGE BY PHOTO NUMBER AND INCLUDE IT IN THE SERVICE REQUEST FORM.

Full Restoration

Since we do almost every part on your range in a full restoration we can give a free restoration quote based on photos.  We only do the outer enamel in a full restoration if you want a color change or if the majority of the panels are badly damaged.  Please send an email containing the following photos:
  1.     Complete Range
  2.     Left Side of Range
  3.     Right Side of Range
  4.     Stove Top showing top with Burners, grates, and drip pans
  5.     Back Splash if there is a high one
  6.     Close up of Knobs, clocks, or any special details
  7.     Oven, Storage, Broiler, and/or other interiors
  8.     Photos of gas lines under stove top

Once we get the photos we will send you general contract for full restoration and you can begin the process.  We would stick to our general quote unless something grossly different is found when the stove arrives.  This has never happened.

Cleaning and Partial Restoration

Once you complete an online service request form and submit it to us, along with your available dates and times (morning or afternoon).  We will make an appointment to see your stove and give you a quote.  Next, we visit your home; discuss your needs, your family lifestyle, your cooking habits, your kitchen plans, and your goals.  We photograph your range, and gather enough information to do a detailed written quote. If we have to replace parts, we source new parts from vendors. A quote will be sent to the customer via e-mail within five to seven business days.

Quotes are given to the customer via email, or in person right on the spot, depending on the job.  Most jobs cannot be quoted on the spot.  In rare instances we can give a general quote and then take whatever parts need to be restored to avoid an additional trip.

We cannot quote partial restoration and cleaning jobs based on photos because many things do not show up in photos.  If you live outside our area, you can have the stove shipped into us based on a full restoration quote and we will subsequently give you a quote for a partial restoration.  The fee for an in shop cleaning and partial restoration quote is $216.75 (or $325.13 for large/very rare ranges) and $200 or $300 gets deducted from the final cost of the job.  If pricing is your key decision point it is best to have an in home or in shop consultation done first.  Travel and moving fees are the client's responsibility.  We do have low cost movers that are familiar with moving these ranges that we can refer to you.  In some instances it may be better to have the stove brought in and fully checked out than paying us to travel to an outside area for a consultation.

In Shop vs. In Home Consultation

When we do the consultation in your home we discuss your goals, take photos, and discuss what is wrong with the range.  We look at it but we don't do a very thorough diagnostic because we are going based on what your daily usage experience has been.  We determine the cost of services based on looking at the range and discussing the issues with you.

When we do an in shop consultation, also caled in shop diagnostic, we hook the stove up to the gas, run it for a day or two to see if it is operating properly or, leaking gas, etc.  Then we do a phone consultation to discuss your goals and the reason for the project.  If the stove is rare it takes much more work to acquire the parts and create the quote, hence the higher fee of $325.13, $300 gets deducted from the final cost.
